"Mindfulness is about paying attention, moment by moment, without judgement or criticism. It is about letting go of the past and the uncertainty of the future." This four-week course is based on the new mind-body sciences and the work of John Kabat Zinn who specializes in using mindfulness meditation to empower individuals in dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, and pain. We will learn the ancient techniques of sitting meditation, walking and movement meditation and other mindfulness practices which we can then incorporate into modern daily living -- allowing us to live a more skilfull and joyful life. Theodore Tsaousidis has been practicing meditation and psycho-spiritual healing for the past thirty years. Born in a rural community in Greece and immersed in a tradition of village healers, he has always been innately connected with nature and spirit. His work encompasses shamanism and traditional healing practices. He has been a student of Buddhism for the past three decades and continues to study under traditional teachers in Zen and in Tibetan Buddhism. Theodore is the principle guide of both the Toronto Mindfulness Community and Medicine Buddha Toronto. He is a Buddhist teacher as authorized by Zasep Tulku Rinpoche. His teachings and healing workshops are informed by current mind-body research
as well as “engaged Buddhism” which serves to bring environmental and social activism into everyday life.
